Blackmail video leads to rape within family.

Ludhiana: Police have charged a man with blackmailing his sister-in-law and and raping her repeatedly after recording a video of her bathing at his house.The targeted exploitation began in 2024 when the woman visited her sister’s home.

It’s written in the police complaint that the suspect used the surreptitiously recorded video to extort and sexually assault her over a prolonged period.The abuse resulted in a pregnancy, which the suspect allegedly terminated by forcing the survivor to ingest abortifacient medication. The survivor also stated that the suspect had physically assaulted her whenever she had tried to disclose the abuse to her family.After initially remaining silent out of fear, she recently confided in her relatives and approached authorities.The suspect faces multiple charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including Section 64(2)(m) for repeated rape, alongside charges of criminal intimidation, voluntarily causing hurt, extortion, and insulting the modesty of a woman.An assistant sub-inspector confirmed that a formal case had been registered immediately following the complaint. Police teams are out to locate and arrest the suspect.
