Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday hailed Operation Sindoor and the Armed Forces, saying the offensive forced Pakistan to its knees within hours of its launch.

Addressing a public event in Bengaluru, the Prime Minister said the whole world saw India’s new face, pointing out New Delhi’s hardline stance against terrorism.

“This is the first time I have come to Bengaluru after Operation Sindoor. Operation Sindoor saw the success of the Indian forces, our ability to destroy terrorist hideouts several kilometres across the border, and our ability to bring Pakistan, which came to the rescue of terrorism, to its knees in a few hours," said PM Modi.

He further credited technology and the impact of ‘Make in India’ in defence behind the success of Operation Sindoor. “The youth of Bengaluru and Karnataka have contributed a lot to this," he added.

PM Modi was speaking at the ‘Next-Gen Mobility for a Next-Gen City’ programme in Bengaluru.

Operation Sindoor was launched on May 7 in retaliation to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 people.

Indian forces struck terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, killing more than 100 militants linked to groups such as Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen.

In response to India’s strike on terror hubs, Pakistan responded with cross-border shelling, drone attack attempts, and air defence action.

In retaliation, India’s counterstrikes damaged Islamabad’s radar systems, communication nodes, and airfields across 11 key bases, including the Nur Khan air base.
