Cases filed against 13 private bus operators in East Godavari for excess fare

Cases have been registered against operators of 13 private bus services for collecting excess fare during the ongoing Sankranti festival in East Godavari district on Wednesday.

The Andhra Pradesh Road Transport Department has allowed private bus service operators to collect only 50% of the additional fare as against the APSRTC fare during Sankranti. 

In an official release, Road Transport Officer R. Suresh said that cases have been registered against operators of the 13 bus services for collecting excess fare across the East Godavari district. “Special teams have been deployed till January 18 to monitor bus fares collected by private bus services. Online platforms, including Red Bus and Abhi Bus, are also being observed to check the bus fares being charged by them”, said Mr. Suresh.
