Panic spread in a residential area of Punjab’s Amritsar after a scooter rider opened fire on a man and a woman. The incident took place on Sunday morning. As per the CCTV footage, the scooter first collided with the victim and when he confronted the rider, he opened fire on the victim and on a woman standing nearby.

The entire incident was captured on CCTV, and both victims have been admitted to the hospital.

Punjab Police shared the video of the incident on X and stated, “PS Islamabad of Commissionerate Police Amritsar, on receiving information about a firing incident in its jurisdiction, took immediate action and reached the spot to assess the situation. In this regard, an FIR has been registered and raids are being conducted to arrest the accused. The accused will be apprehended shortly."

Central Amritsar ACP Jaspal Singh told ANI that an investigation has been initiated in the incident and the accused will be arrested soon.

“An incident of firing in Guru Nanakpura was reported at 10:30 AM today. After verifying, it was found that an individual named Billu was going home after buying groceries when a person with a pistol came on a bike and collided with him. The person fired at him when confronted. The victim has been admitted to the hospital, and we have started the investigation. The accused will soon be nabbed. A woman was also present on the scene who was also shot in the arm," Singh said.
