A commuter travelling on the Yamuna Expressway captured a fatal road accident on camera late at night in Aligarh’s Tappal police station area, where a speeding canter rammed into a truck moving ahead.
The live video, filmed by a commuter in his car on the same route, shows the canter approaching at high speed before crashing into the rear of the truck. The impact was severe, and the canter driver died on the spot.
Police said preliminary investigation suggests the driver may have dozed off at the wheel, causing the vehicle to lose control. The accident occurred during late-night hours when traffic was relatively light.
The deceased was identified as Kanhaiya, a resident of Kundaliya Paroliya village in Shahjahanpur district. Police sent the body for post-mortem examination and have launched a detailed probe into the incident.
The footage of the crash has since gone viral on social media, once again highlighting the risks of fatigue-related driving on high-speed expressways.
