After notable performances in Keedaa Cola and Ghaati, Chaitanya Rao Madadi has undergone a radical transformation for his latest project, Dil Diya. The film’s bold first-look poster, showing Chaitanya stripped bare, has already become the talk of the town.Detailing the process, the film’s director Kranthi Madhav says, “Chaitanya shed about eight to ten kilos over nine months for his role as Vikram in Dil Diya. The character demanded a leaner physicality because he is going through a very challenging phase in his life.”Describing the film, Kranthi calls it a contemporary love story with a deeper emotional undercurrent. “Everyone carries scars in their lives. This story explores the journey of that human being within us all — our trauma, pain and joy,” he says. He adds, “Love is not confined to just a boy and a girl. In this film, we explore love in a broader sense, encompassing love for life, one’s craft, and much more,” he says, adding, “We have tried to explore love as a broader spectrum rather than just limiting it to a man and a woman.
It’s about how different forms of love shape a person and help them navigate difficult moments.”
