Sobhita Dhulipala’s upcoming Telugu release ‘Cheekatilo’ has become the talk of the town. The trailer of the film was launched on Monday, January 12. Superstar Venkatesh came across the trailer, and he was all praise for it. He reshared the trailer on his Instagram story and said, “Looks like a compelling thriller… best wishes to the entire team." Venkatesh’s appreciation comes just after Naga Chaitanya. Naga Chaitanya was absolutely blown away by the trailer of his wife Sobhita’s film. In an Instagram story, Naga Chaitanya wrote, “Intriguing… Looking forward to a solid performance. See you on January 23, 2026.”Bollywood filmmaker and actor Anurag Kashyap, too, has showered praise on the trailer.

All about ‘Cheekatilo’

Directed by Sharan Kopishetty, ‘Cheekatilo’ is an upcoming crime thriller featuring Sobhita Dhulipala in the lead role.

She plays the role of Sandhya, a criminology graduate and true crime podcaster. Set in Hyderabad, the film revolves around Sandhya, who is on the hunt for a serial killer.

“At its heart, this movie is more than a crime suspense; it is a reflection on resilience, the fight against silence and power, and the courage it takes to bring justice to the front,” Sharan Kopishetty, director and co-writer of ‘Cheekatilo’, said. Talking about her role in the film, Sobhita Dhulipala added, "Playing Sandhya has been a superb experience. She’s a front-footed young woman who is an independent thinker, deeply committed to standing by her belief system no matter the resistance. Her choices are shaped by a unique stubbornness that has a history of its own.
