Chief Minister Siddaramaiah inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development projects worth ₹649.47 crore in the Kalyana Karnataka region as part of the Kalyana Karnataka Utsav celebrations here on Wednesday.
Of these, foundation stones were laid for 133 projects worth ₹570.05 crore, while 26 projects worth ₹79.41 crore were inaugurated.
Under the Kalyana Karnataka Region Development Board (KKRDB) grants, the Chief Minister laid foundation stones for 112 projects worth ₹350.05 crore and inaugurated four projects worth ₹3.35 crore.
In addition, foundation stones were laid for 21 projects worth ₹220 crore under various other departments, and 22 projects worth ₹76.06 crore were inaugurated and dedicated to the region.
KKRDB Heart Line project
In a major initiative aimed at reducing deaths due to cardiac ailments and providing timely treatment during the ‘golden hour’, the Chief Minister launched the Heart Line project, funded by the KKRDB at a cost of ₹9.60 crore.
As part of the project, 32 state-of-the-art ambulances equipped with advanced cardiac emergency facilities were handed over to the Health Department. These include nine for Kalaburagi, five each for Koppal and Raichur, four each for Bidar and Ballari, three for Vijayanagara, and two for Yadgir.
Each ambulance is equipped with a cardiac monitor, defibrillator, portable ventilator, Ambu bag, and emergency medications to effectively handle heart attack cases.
