Chris Pratt or Christo? ‘Mercy’ star reveals he almost didn’t go by his birth name - ‘Everyone called me Christo for a long time’

Before hitting Hollywood, Chris Pratt, then a restaurant worker, was nicknamed 'Christo' due to a worn-out name tag. He seriously considered adopting this moniker professionally, even preferring it at one point. Despite the widespread adoption of 'Christo' among colleagues, Pratt ultimately stuck with his birth name, though he humorously suggests it's never too late to reconsider.

Chris Pratt recently sat down for an interview where he opened up about how he almost didn’t debut with his own name as he entered Hollywood. The star revealed that before all of this, when he was still a part-time worker at a chain restaurant, he ended up getting a nickname that he seriously considered changing his real name to.

Chris Pratt reveals his nickname from the days before he became an actor

To promote his latest film ‘Mercy’, the actor recently appeared on Josh Horowitz’s ‘Happy Sad Confused’ podcast. During one of the segments of the show, Pratt revealed that he almost went by Christo instead of Chris when he started out as an actor in Los Angeles.“I had a name tag that said ‘Christopher’—but this is at a Bubba Gump Shrimp Company. But the P-H-E-R part got rubbed off, so it said Christo, and everyone called me Christo for a long time,” he quipped, sharing that almost everyone started calling him that, and he even started preferring the nickname.Another hilarious anecdote that the famed ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ actor added was that he never changed it or corrected the ID, which also meant that all of the new employees who joined the company during his tenure genuinely thought that his real name was Christo.
