City bids farewell to Vinayagar: A sea of devotion!

On Sunday, thousands of Ganesha idols, ranging from towering clay sculptures to petite handcrafted figures, were carried in grand processions to the Marina and Pattinapakkam beaches for immersion. Marking the Vinayagar Visarjan, the city’s streets turned into colourful corridors of faith, filled with the beat of drums, the rhythm of chants, and the colours of festivity.

Devotees danced and offered prayers before bidding an emotional farewell to the beloved elephant-headed deity. It was a day when tradition blended with celebration, showcasing not just the city’s cultural spirit but also its enduring bond with Vinayagar.
