A Class 12 student was allegedly abducted and gang-raped inside a moving car in Rajasthan’s Bikaner district, police said on Monday.
The incident reportedly took place on January 6 in the Napasar area, though an FIR was lodged five days later, on January 11, after the victim’s family approached the police.
According to the complaint, the girl had left her home for school when she was intercepted by two youths, who allegedly forced her into a car and drove away.
Police said the accused allegedly kept the girl in the vehicle for several hours, during which she was threatened and assaulted while the car was in motion.
The ordeal reportedly came to an end when the vehicle entered a nearby village and aroused suspicion among local residents, who stopped the car.
The accused allegedly pushed the girl out of the vehicle and fled the scene. Villagers alerted her family, who reached the spot and took her home, police said.
A case has been registered at Napasar police station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Circle Officer Gangashahar Himanshu Sharma told PTI.
He said the victim is above 18 years of age, while the exact age of the accused is yet to be ascertained.
No arrests have been made so far, and an investigation is underway, the officer added.
