CM Mohan Charan Majhi listens to grievances of people in Bhubaneswar on Monday
Bhubaneswar: CM Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday chaired the 16th session of the CM Grievance Hearing Programme at the dedicated cell in Unit-II here. The CM arrived at the venue and interacted with people alongside 7 senior cabinet ministers and top officials.As per the practice, Majhi first met 30 people with disabilities and chronic illnesses waiting outside the venue, listened to their concerns, and directed officials to take immediate steps. Later, he addressed grievances of registered complainants inside the cell.The CM approved medical assistance for several patients suffering from serious ailments, including Papun Maharana of Keonjhar, Priyabrata Pradhan of Khurda, and Deeptimayi Dash of Cuttack, under the single-window system.Majhi said today was the first session of the grievance programme for 2026. He said including today’s session, the govt received over 14,000 grievances. “We are considering all the cases on priority and resolving them in record time,” he said.The chief minister further said this initiative helped resolve long-pending issues and strengthened public trust in governance. “We will continue to hold these sessions regularly,” said Majhi, adding that the govt is committed to addressing people’s problems swiftly.
According to official data, of the 13,358 complaints received during the previous 15 sessions, 12,748 were resolved, registering a 95% success rate. Over 56,000 people have visited the grievance cell so far. Additionally, out of 1.49 lakh complaints lodged through the portal and mail, 88% were addressed.The hearing witnessed participation of key ministers, including revenue and disaster management minister Suresh Pujari, school and mass education minister Nityananda Gond, panchayati raj minister Rabi Narayan Nayak, and health minister Mukesh Mahaling, among others.Official sources said the grievance hearing programme emerged as a vital platform for citizens to directly present their issues to the administration. Complaints ranged from individual cases to group petitions, and the govt assured timely resolution to maintain public confidence.
