Launching a scathing attack on the Union government, Kodikunnil Suresh, MP, has said that the anti-youth policies, rampant corruption, and anti-democratic actions of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) regime have pushed the future of the nation’s youth and students into complete darkness.

Addressing a press conference in Kollam on Wednesday (June 24, 2026), the senior Congress leader remarked that the country has rarely witnessed such a catastrophic combination of administrative failure, corruption, and abuse of power. “Chatron Ki Goonj initiative, led by Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, has successfully brought the genuine grievances of the youth into the national spotlight,” he said.

“Young citizens are raising critical concerns regarding soaring unemployment, paper leaks, institutional corruption in national entrance examinations, and the aggressive privatisation of public education. Instead of addressing these systemic failures, the Narendra Modi government has resorted to attacking Mr. Gandhi and silencing anyone who questions their ten-year track record of manipulating national exam agencies, which has completely shattered the credibility of public examinations and destroyed the aspirations of millions of students,” he said.

Mr. Suresh further alleged that the BJP’s slogan of “zero tolerance against corruption” stands thoroughly exposed. He pointed to severe irregularities involving over ₹200 crore in the Ayodhya Ram temple construction funds contributed by millions of devotees. Additionally, he flagged a massive 168-acre land scam in Madhya Pradesh involving a BJP Minister and his family, accusing the ruling party of seizing public assets while shielding its own leaders from Central investigative agencies.

On FCRA

Concluding the press meet, the senior leader accused the Prime Minister of using the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) as a political weapon to systematically choke human rights groups, environmental activists, and non-governmental organisations that critique the government.

“The BJP is using communal politics and nationalistic rhetoric merely to cover up collapsing employment, farmers’ crises, and the destruction of constitutional bodies. The Congress will aggressively spearhead the protest movements called for by Mr. Gandhi to safeguard democracy, social justice, and the Constitution,” he said.
