The application process for the Common University Entrance Test for postgraduate courses (CUET-PG) for the academic year 2026-27 has commenced from December 14, Vice-Chancellor of the Central University of Karnataka (CUK) Battu Satyanarayana has said.
Addressing a press conference here, Prof. Satyanarayana said the examination will be conducted in Computer-Based Test mode by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Online applications will be accepted till January 14, 2026 (up to 11.50 p.m.). Candidates can apply through the NTA websites - https://exams.nta.nic.in/cuet-pg/ or www.nta.ac.in ; and details are also available on the university website www.cuk.ac.in
The last date for payment of examination fees is January 14. Candidates will be allowed to make corrections in their application forms on the website from January 18 to January 20. Examination centres will be announced later, after which admission cards can be downloaded from the NTA website. The examinations will be held in March 2026.
Prof. Satyanarayana said CUET-PG will be conducted for Central Universities and other participating universities across the country. In addition to the existing 30 postgraduate programmes, CUK has introduced five new courses this academic year — M.A. in Library and Information Science; M.Sc. in Botany, Zoology, and Statistics and Data Analytics; and M.Tech in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
The intake capacity for most programmes is 30 seats, while MBA has 60 seats and M.Ed. and B.Ed. have 50 seats each. For M.Tech programmes, 50% of the seats will be filled through CUET-PG and the remaining 50% through GATE.
Prof. Satyanarayana said that the students currently pursuing the sixth semester of undergraduate courses and those appearing for fifth semester examinations are also eligible to apply. Replying to a query, he said of the total seats in each postgraduate programme, three seats are reserved for students from the Kalyana Karnataka region and three for candidates belonging to the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS).
CUET-PG examinations will be conducted at 292 centres, including 16 outside the country. In Karnataka, exams will be held in 15 cities, including Kalaburagi and Ballari in the Kalyana Karnataka region, he added.
