Minister for Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare Satya Kumar Yadav stressed the need for coordination between villages, mandals, district and State-level officials on measures to be taken in view of the cyclone warnings issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) for more than 12 districts in Andhra Pradesh.

In a teleconference with Health Principal Secretary Saurabh Gaur and other officials on Saturday (October 25, 2025) night, the Minister said all doctors and paramedical staff have been alerted and also been instructed to be available 24/7 to the public at all health centres until the cyclone situation improves.

According to a press note from the department, epidemic cells have been established at the district and State levels, and vaccines such as anti-snake venom and anti-rabies have been made available. Emergency response teams have been formed too.

Mr. Gaur said that health workers have prepared the details of pregnant women whose delivery dates are approaching, and necessary measures will be taken.

He said hospital superintendents and senior doctors have been asked to use generators judiciously in the event of power disruptions so as to make it available for medical services.
