D K Singh Appointed Additional Charge VC of DSPMU Amidst University Appointments Delay

Ranchi: Even as the appointment of vice-chancellors (VCs) of four universities of the state got delayed, the governor’s office on Thursday issued notification giving professor D K Singh, the additional charge of Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University (DSPMU).It may be noted here that Dr Singh is a regular VC of Jharkhand University of Technology besides having the additional charge of Ranchi University also.When contacted a Lok Bhawan official said that it was a stop-gap arrangement adding that the appointment process of VCs in four universities of the state would be completed in 15 to 20 days. He said the in-charge VCs would look only after routine works.It may be stated here that the governor had initiated the process for appointment of VCs in four universities namely RU, DSPMU, Jharkhand State Open University and Jamshedpur Women’s University
