Jitendra Kumar takes on a strikingly different persona in the upcoming psychological thriller 'Dalimb', which is rooted in the bustling neighborhoods of suburban Mumbai. This gripping film navigates the intricate webs of memory, love, and emotional loss, as articulated by director Priya Aven, who envisions it as a uniquely unsettling journey.

Actor Jitendra Kumar AKA Jitu Bhaiya, widely loved for his performances in ‘Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan’ and ‘Chaman Bahaar’, has stunned fans with a dramatic new avatar for his upcoming thriller ‘Dalimb’.

The freshly released poster reveals the actor in a look that makes him almost unrecognisable, hinting at an intense and layered character. What is ‘Dalimb’ about?

Set in suburban middle-class Mumbai, ‘Dalimb’ dives into the fragile intersections of memory, perception, love and loss.

The narrative promises a psychologically charged atmosphere, exploring fractured realities and emotional turbulence. The haunting first look hints at a story simmering with tension and inner conflict, positioning the film as a standout thriller in 2026. Alongside Jitendra Kumar, the film features Priya Bapat, Kshitish Date, Kavin Dave, Sai Prasad, Harish Kulkarni, and Sagar Yadav in key roles.

The film has been written and directed by debutant Priya Aven, with dialogues penned by Varad Bhatnagar and additional dialogues by Tanuj Garg.

Priya Aven calls the film deeply personal

Sharing her thoughts with Mid-Day, Priya Aven said, “Dalimb is deeply personal to me, and I cannot wait for the audiences to enter its world. Much has been drawn from events and realities I have witnessed first-hand. It is a pacy, engaging and unsettling thriller with an emotional core that will shock you and move you in equal measure.” She further added, “I have known Tanuj (Garg) for decades as a work colleague, and I was sure about vesting my first child in capable and passionate hands.

Jitendra Kumar on playing Suraaj

Speaking about stepping into the role of Suraaj, Jitendra Kumar said, “When I heard the narration of Dalimb at the Ellipsis office last year, I was drawn to its honesty and the depth of the character. Suraaj is layered with a very different graph and I feel that the audience will really connect with it.” He further shared, “Working with Priya, Tanuj, Atul and the Ellipsis team was a smooth and fulfilling experience. I’m looking forward to the audience watching the film.

The first look of ‘Dalimb’ is now out, offering a glimpse into what promises to be an emotionally intense and psychologically gripping cinematic experience set to premiere later in 2026.
