Just a day after resigning from Congress, Assam Lok Sabha MP Pradyut Bordoloi on Wednesday joined the Bharatiya Janata Party.
The development came after Bordoloi on Tuesday tendered his resignation to Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, ending his lifelong association with the party amid allegations of internal mistreatment.
In a letter addressed to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Bordoloi said, “With an overwhelming sense of sadness today, I hereby tender my resignation from all posts, privileges and the primary membership of the Indian National Congress."
