Delhi rain havoc: Tree falls in Kalkaji; father-daughter duo critically injured; 1 rescued from car

NEW DELHI: Two people were critically injured after a tree fell due to rains in B-Block area of South Delhi’s Kalkaji in the morning on Thursday.According to police, the old neem tree fell around 9.50am.

Two people riding a motorcycle, identified as Sudhir Kumar (50) and his daughter Priya (22), were trapped under the tree.

They were rushed to Safdarjung Trauma Centre.Delhi Fire Services (DFS) said that two fire tenders containing around 12 fire fighters were rushed to the spot around 10am.

They also added that one person was rescued from the spot from inside a car that the tree had also fallen on, before the two on the mangled bike were rushed to the hospital.
