Dheeraj Kunubilli took charge as the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Annamayya district on Monday. The 2020-batch IPS officer previously served as Additional SP in Alluri Sitarama Raju (ASR) district.

Speaking to the media here, the new SP outlined his key priorities, stating that the district police will prioritise maintaining law and order, protecting women and children, curbing drug abuse, tackling cybercrime, and cracking down on red sanders smuggling.

Mr. Dheeraj highlighted that the police would deal illegal activities with a firm hand and address public grievances swiftly through legal means. He said that the police teams at the village and mandal levels would intensify awareness campaigns on cyberfraud and crimes against women and girl students.

The SP added that the police personnel needed to adapt to modern policing methods, strengthen relations with the public, and improve their own welfare.
