DLSA asks public to clear traffic challans by paying 50% penalty

The Shivamogga District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) has appealed to the public to make use of the special 50% penalty for traffic violations and clear the dues, as only a day is left for the special discount to end.

In a press release, the member secretary of the DLSA, on Thursday, stated that there were 2,94,181 traffic violation cases registered between September 28, 2023, and August 30, 2025. The total penalty due was ₹23.37 crore. So far, 56,199 cases have been cleared and ₹4.09 crore has been recovered. The amount yet to be recovered is over ₹19.28 crore.

The public should make use of the opportunity to clear the remaining 2,37,982 cases by paying the penalty. The special discount would end at midnight on Friday, September 12.
