Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Mahabharat Anubhav Kendra or Experience Centre in Kurukshetra in 2024. Visitors stepping inside feel as if they have been transported back to the time of the Mahabharat. The centre uses advanced technology, hyper realistic figures and impressive audio visual displays, to create an experience never seen before in India or abroad. Each section is designed to show different parts of the epic, due to which every corner of the museum is unique and memorable.
The museum also features a 360 degree show, life sized figures and realistic setups of the royal assembly, which allows visitors to feel like they have actually entered the court of the Mahabharat. With its combination of history, art and technology, the centre brings the legendary story to life.
Step Back Into The Mahabharata Era
Taking to Instagram, the content creator explained, “This is the world’s first Mahabharat museum and as soon as you enter, you’ll feel transported to the era of the Mahabharat. Here, it feels like you have actually stepped into the epic. The technology, hyper realistic figures and audio visual experiences are so amazing that you won’t have seen anything like this anywhere in India or abroad. Every section is so beautiful and unique that it’s hard to put into words."
“The museum has a lot to offer, including a 360 degree show, larger than life figures and realistic setups of the great assembly, where you’ll feel like you’ve really entered the royal court. No matter where you’re coming from, if you’re visiting Kurukshetra, this is a must see. This is the Mahabharat Anubhav Kendra, Jyotisar, Kurukshetra," she adds.
Reacting to the post, a user wrote, “It is really a mind-blowing experience."
An individual stated, “Mahabharat the great epic is just not about war is teaches us politics even better than today it teaches us to stand by the truth no matter what it tells us about sacrifice, love, duty, strength, culture, and what not its the part of everyday life what we do in practical life we gets its lesson from Mahabharat."
“I don’t want to experience this. There’s already plenty of Mahabharat at home anyway," a comment read.
One more added, “This is much needed everywhere in India where such important things happened, so we can improve our tourism and also bring lots of awareness."
Ticket And Museum Details
In a separate video, the content creator explained that each person needs a ticket that costs Rs 200, which can be bought at the gate or booked online. Once inside, visitors receive a smartphone with earplugs and a guide who stays with them throughout the tour. The museum is completely silent to make the experience more immersive. It is divided into different sections, from Block A to Block E, and each section lets visitors explore a different part of the Mahabharat story.
