Makar Sankranti is a widely celebrated festival all across the globe, especially popular in the Maharashtra region and Marathi speaking linguists. It marks the harvest period and commences new beginnings.
Everyone in Maharashtra has a different story to it and has varied rituals. So is with Bigg Boss season 6 contestant, singer-composer Prajakta Shukre. She has lived in a culturally rooted environment and that’s why festivals hold an important place in her life, is what she says.Prajakta got a little candid with us and expressed nostalgia about Makar Sankranti, she said, “I have loved festivals since my childhood. My parents have kept us rooted to our culture.
The fun of dressing up, eating Til Gud, visiting relatives and friends have been all of my fond memories. Even now, we follow these traditions of waking up early, praying, dressing up, having food together and spending quality time with loved ones.
I am surely going to miss the Tilgul ladoos made by my mother. And really excited to celebrate sankranti in the Bigg Boss Marathi house.”Prajakta was also seen as a calmness amidst all the chaos that happens in the house; and the fans of Bigg Boss have really appreciated the same. Meanwhile, her cute banter with Bigg Boss himself became a treat for everyone in the house. Maharashtra chi Dhakka girl, as the host Riteish Deshmukh called her, was also seen giving singing classes to her co-housemates. While the housemates were busy screaming on house duties, Prajakta took a lead and got the topic of work division and was also seen calming her co-contestants who were missing their families. The much loved singer has been showered with immense love by the viewers of the show since the first episode that went live. They are waiting to see her game.
