Director Gautham Menon has revived hope for the long-delayed action thriller 'Dhruva Natchathiram,' starring Chiyaan Vikram. He indicated that production issues are nearly resolved and an official statement is imminent, aiming for a 2026 release. The film, stuck for eight years due to financial and legal hurdles, faced another setback with its November 2023 release postponed.
The much-anticipated action thriller film ‘Dhruva Natchathiram’ starring Vikram is reportedly nearing its release, as director Gautham Vasudev Menon has indicated that the problems with the film have been “almost solved.
”In a recent interview with Cine Ulagam, the director announced that an official statement regarding the film is on its way, exciting fans who had been waiting for the film’s official release for a long time. This news has come like a breath of fresh air, particularly in light of the film’s frequent delays and cancellations, making it one of the most discussed unreleased films in Tamil cinema.
Chiyaan Vikram starrer stuck for 8 years
The journey of this film has not been smooth. 'Dhruva Natchathiram' started its film production in 2017 and has been marred with several predicaments including financial constraints, legal issues, and presently the COVID-19 pandemic.
Despite the film being completed in 2023, its release continues to face setbacks. Originally scheduled for November 24, 2023, the premiere was stalled just a day prior due to unresolved financial complications.
Gautham Vasudev Menon has once again reassured audiences that the production has not been abandoned and that every effort is being made to secure a theatrical release.
Fans await new release date
The film faced a series of false starts following its initial delay. A rumored February 2024 release never materialized, and the focus shifted briefly to the director’s other project, 'Joshua: Imai Pol Kaakha', released that March. Even after Harris Jayaraj suggested an April 2025 premiere early last year, the film remained in limbo, leaving fans skeptical after multiple missed deadlines.
