The Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) Chief Commissioner M. Maheshwar Rao on Tuesday reviewed ongoing infrastructure projects across West Corporation limits and directed officials to speed up work on road widening, white-topping, and lake development.

During his inspection at Hosakerehalli, Mr. Rao said Kerekodi Road needs to be widened to improve traffic flow. He instructed officials to begin acquiring land from adjoining properties and provide transferable development rights (TDR) where required to facilitate the expansion. He also reviewed buffer road work connecting Kerekodi Road to RR Nagar Arch and from Nayandahalli Circle to V. Legacy Road, directing officials to complete tendering quickly so that construction can start. A plan for developing cross roads in the area was also sought, along with a review of Javaregowda Doddi Road for widening.

At Vijayanagar’s RPC Layout, Mr. Rao inspected white-topping work on a 1.4-km stretch from Railway Parallel Road (West of Chord Road) to 5th Main Road, of which 645 metres has been completed. He emphasised that rainwater harvesting systems be installed and roadside drains constructed properly.

The Chief Commissioner also reviewed development work at Nagarbhavi Lake, being undertaken at an estimated cost of ₹3.5 crore across 4.7 acres. Officials said encroachments have been cleared and most of the work is nearing completion. Mr. Rao later held discussions with Bengaluru Development Authority (BDA) officials and residents, and emphasised on joint inspections and measures to ensure the lake is properly maintained.
