Gilbert Arenas' ex wife Laura Govan steals spotlight with lively TMZ After Dark tour

Laura Govan, star of "Basketball Wives," won MVP of the "TMZ After Dark" tour this past weekend, demonstrating to us how to rejoice as if we had just won an NBA championship. Laura Govan, star of Basketball Wives, took over the Monster Energy-powered TMZ After Dark tour to provide visitors with the best possible nightlife.

In addition to receiving free Monster Energy drinks, the tour bus included dance parties and stops at some of Hollywood's best bars.Laura Govan recently talked about her friendship with three-time NBA All-Star Gilbert Arenas, which prompted the tour. The TV personality has experienced more than most people can fathom. Time has put her to the test at every stage of her life, from being sexually abused as a youngster to nearly losing her own child.

She spoke with Dr. Holly Carter on DHC about her inability to find the tranquility she desired, even in her married life.

Wearing a stunning fur coat, Laura looked like the ideal snow angel of a host, belting out the lyrics to Keyshia Cole's "Love." Laura even invited her parents to the celebration. Monster Energy provided fuel for the entire tour. Each traveler received a Monster Energy drink and spent the evening singing and dancing.

Besides the ice skating, there was also the Holly Jolly Bar, courtesy of E.P. & L.P.’s Holly Jolly pop-up bar, a new holiday pop-up each year. As patrons enjoyed holiday cocktails, they watched Laura ice skating on the rink. In April 2025, a car accident put Alijah Arenas, the son of Gilbert Arenas and Laura Govan, into a medically induced coma.

For those who don't know, the 18-year-old slammed into a tree after losing control of his Tesla.

The automobile caught fire after the collision. However, onlookers saved him before further harm might have been done.Speaking about the same thing on the show, Laura disclosed that their family was rocked by this terrible incident. But when their son healed, the event made them think about it and demand a ceasefire between her and Gilbert. She was quoted as saying:"Alijah, our son, had an accident, and it was a really bad space, a really deadly situation. We came together in the midst of that, and it's beLaura Govan disclosed in the same session that, before Alijah's accident, she harbored some intense feelings for Gilbert Arenas. In an attempt to lighten the situation, she quipped that she was "going to kill him." She revealed that she was aware of his love for her and said:"I know he loves me. I told him I love him. It took my son being in a deathly state for us to come together, and I will take it.

Cause Gilbert Arenas, I was going to kill him because he was killing me."

Laura Govan opens up about painful childhood trauma and the long road toward healing

Laura Govan has previously talked about getting married without going to treatment in order to achieve her personal goals. She described how she became enraged after confiding in her father about being physically beaten and assaulted by her stepbrother. She later vented her resentment on the basketball court. Speaking about this very recently, she shared her experience of the traumas she suffered during her childhood and revealed that she still suffers from them after more than thirty years. During the podcast with Dr. Holly Carter, Laura shared her experiences from her childhood.She described how the assault occurred after she was hospitalized for a year with a fractured hip following a catastrophic auto accident.
