Vizianagaram Zilla Powra Vedika president Bhisetti Babji, poet Gurajada Apparao’s great grandson Venkateswara Prasad along with his wife G. Indira have urged the government to take steps for the early construction of an auditorium on the vacant site adjacent to Gurajada Apparao’s house in Vizianagaram.
Addressing the media on Sunday, Mr. Babji said that the construction of the auditorium would be a great tribute to the poet whose birth anniversary would be celebrated on September 21, 2025.
He thanked the Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan for mentioning about the Gurajada house and its development in the meeting held in Visakhapatnam on Saturday, while quoting The Hindu’s news report published on August 24, with the headline ‘Renovation of poet Gurajada house need of the hour.”
Mr. Babji asked the Minister for Tourism and Culture Kandula Durgesh to take steps for the payment of honorarium to Mr. Venkateswara Prasad who has not received payment for the past six months.
