In a shocking case from Vadodara, a 40-year-old woman has accused her father-in-law and married brother-in-law of repeatedly raping her, allegedly to force a pregnancy after her husband was found to have a very low sperm count.

According to a Times of India report, the woman has lodged an FIR at the Navapura police station and also accused her husband of blackmail. According to her, her husband threatened to spread her private pictures on social media if she revealed these incidents.

The victim, who married in February 2024, detailed in her complaint that shortly after arriving at her husband’s house, her in-laws claimed she was too old to conceive and suggested fertility treatments. Medical examinations later revealed her husband’s extremely low sperm count, preventing natural conception. Following unsuccessful in vitro fertilisation (IVF), she proposed adopting a child, but her in-laws refused.

In July 2024, while she was sleeping, her father-in-law entered her room and raped her. Despite her screams, he slapped her, and her husband insisted she remain silent to fulfil his desire for a child, threatening to expose her nude pictures. The victim stated that her father-in-law raped her multiple times, but she did not become pregnant.

The abuse escalated in December 2024 when her married brother-in-law also entered her room and raped her, repeating the act several times. The victim became pregnant in June 2025 but suffered a miscarriage in August. She approached the police in July and disclosed the entire ordeal. Following a preliminary investigation, the police formally registered an FIR on Sunday.
