According to IMD, light to moderate rainfall accompanied with light thunderstorm and lightning is very likely to occur at many places of Delhi and NCR.

Delhiites are set to witness light rainfall on Wednesday as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted that the Southwest Monsoon is expected to bring significant rainfall to various parts of India over the next few days.

Additionally, the monsoon showers are expected to impact several regions with heavy to very heavy rainfall.

According to IMD, light to moderate rainfall accompanied with light thunderstorm and lightning is very likely to occur at many places of Delhi and NCR.

Karnal, Rajaund, Assandh, Safidon, Jind, Panipat, Gohana, Gannaur, Sonipat, Rohtak, Kharkhoda, Mattanhail, Jhajjar, Farukhnagar, Sohana, Rewari, Palwal, Nuh, Aurangabad, Hodal (Haryana) Nandgaon, Iglas, Barsana, Raya, Mathura (UP) Bhiwari, Tizara (Rajasthan) are also expected to receive rainfall, as per the weather agency’s prediction.

Meanwhile, the national capital on Wednesday recorded a minimum temperature of 24.5 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature is expected to settle at 34 degrees Celsius, the IMD said.

The air quality was recorded in the satisfactory category as the Air Quality Index (AQI) at 9 am stood at 60.

Airlines Issue Advisory

In view of the rainfall prediction, Air India took to X  and wrote that Gusty wind and rain are impacting flight operations in Delhi and therefore, advised passengers to check their flight status before heading to the airport.

IndiGo informed passengers that weather-related delays may be expected later in the day in view of the heavy rains across Delhi. 

“Our teams are always at your service to ensure your travel experience remains as smooth as possible," the airlines added, issuing an advisory.
