Macaulay Culkin reveals why he left acting and later came back
While featuring on the comedy show ‘Mythical Kitchen’, the famed actor opened up about the real reason behind his long acting hiatus. After garnering a lot of success in his early years as an actor, Culkin wanted a taste of real life and wished to spend time with people his own age.He shared that, “What I wanted is to be with people my own age. You have to remember: a lot of the stuff I did when I was a kid... I'm not doing ensembles. It's me.” He further shared that most of his scenes were by himself in the ‘Home Alone’ films, which felt really lonely.The actor even compares his situation to the 2000 film ‘Castaway’, saying that “You'll watch Home Alone... and I go, 'Oh my gosh, I'm in Castaway, except he had a volleyball to talk to.”
Macaulay Culkin’s wish for a normal life
The star went on a hiatus after his success in the film ‘Richie Rich.’ He joked about how he craved to be with people his age and that he just needed a normal life. “I wanted to go out, and I wanted to date girls, and I wanted to hang out with people my own age. I wanted to, you know, go to a party. I wanted to do those kinds of things. I can't tell you how many Bar Mitzvahs I missed,” the ‘Zootopia 2’ actor joked on.
