HTET exam pattern 2025

The Haryana Teachers Eligibility Test (HTET) is conducted in offline mode.

The exam is held using OMR sheets. All questions in the paper are multiple-choice based.The question paper consists of 150 questions. Each question carries one mark, making the total marks 150. Candidates are given two hours and thirty minutes to complete the exam. There is no negative marking, so no marks are deducted for wrong answers.The paper includes questions from Child Development and Pedagogy, which focuses on understanding how children learn and how teachers should teach.

This section carries 30 questions. Language skills are also tested through Hindi and English. Hindi has 15 questions, and English also has 15 questions.The exam also includes General Studies. This section covers topics such as Haryana general knowledge, reasoning, mathematics, science, and social studies. It carries 60 questions. For candidates appearing for Level 2 and Level 3, there is a subject-specific section with 30 questions based on the subject they choose.For Level 1, the exam is designed for candidates who want to teach Classes 1 to 5. For Level 2, the questions are based on the syllabus for Classes 6 to 8. For Level 3, the paper focuses on subjects taught in Classes 9 to 12.HTET is a qualifying exam. Candidates from the general category need to score at least 60 percent to pass.
