Hyundai Motor Group has officially confirmed that its luxury brand, Genesis, will make its debut in India in 2027. The announcement came during the Hyundai India Investor Day 2025, where the company also outlined its roadmap for growth in the Indian market.Globally, Genesis has a total of nine models on offer. The brand’s petrol lineup includes the G70, G80, and G90 sedans, along with the GV70 and GV80 SUVs and the GV80 coupe-SUV. Its all-electric portfolio features the GV60 SUV, Electrified G80, and Electrified GV70. Since its launch, Genesis has sold over one million vehicles in just eight years and has posted double-digit profit margins in two of those years. The brand currently operates in markets including the United States, Europe, and the Middle East.

Hyundai Motor India has ambitious plans for the next few years. The company aims to achieve a CAGR of 7% by FY2030, with the goal of making India its second-largest market worldwide. Between FY2026 and FY2030, Hyundai India plans to roll out 26 models, which will include seven all-new vehicles, six full model changes, six derivatives, and seven facelifts or updates.The launch of Genesis in India will allow Hyundai to strengthen its presence in the premium segment while continuing to grow its mass-market operations. Details about the India-specific Genesis models are expected to be revealed closer to the 2027 launch.In a related development, Hyundai Motor India announced a leadership change. Tarun Garg, currently Whole-time Director, is set to take over as Managing Director and CEO from January 1, 2026.
