IMD Sounds Rain Alert For Karnataka, Bengaluru On Watch

According to the Meteorological Department, several districts across Karnataka, including Bengaluru, will continue to see rainy, chilly, and foggy conditions in the coming days.

The Meteorological Department has predicted rain across several districts of the state, including Bengaluru. Cloudy skies are set to linger, with scattered showers expected in many areas.
A sudden shift in weather conditions has been triggered by a depression over the Indian Ocean in the Bay of Bengal near Sri Lanka. As a result, chilly weather accompanied by rain is expected to continue today as well.
Meanwhile, temperatures in Bengaluru have been steadily dipping. Over the past 2 days, both the minimum and maximum temperatures have dropped by around 1 degree Celsius.
The Meteorological Department has predicted a further dip in temperatures in Bengaluru from today, with the possibility of evening showers as well.
In parts of interior Karnataka, minimum temperatures are expected to dip to between 3 and 6 degrees Celsius, while foggy conditions will prevail in several other areas. Cold wave conditions were also recorded in Vijayapura over the past 24 hours.
The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for Bidar, Kalaburagi, and Vijayapura districts as cold wave conditions intensify. Residents have been advised to stay alert and take necessary precautions.
Several districts across northern interior Karnataka — including Belagavi, Bagalkot, Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri, Koppal, Raichuru, Yadgir, and Ballari — have been witnessing persistent dry and cold conditions over the past few days, a trend that is expected to continue.
