India Energy Week returns to Goa, Modi to inaugurate virtually

Panaji: The country’s largest international energy conclave, India Energy Week 2026, will be held in Goa from Jan 27 to 30, with over 75,000 delegates from more than 120 countries expected to fly into the state to discuss balancing economic growth with climate goals.

PM Narendra Modi will virtually inaugurate the conclave, which is being held at Betul at ONGC’s convention centre. Petroleum minister Hardeep Singh Puri will be the main speaker, along with UAE’s industry minister Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber and Canada’s energy minister Tim Hodgson. The event will also see ministers from Africa, West Asia, and Central Asia speaking on energy security, investment, and advancing practical solutions for decarbonisation.“India Energy Week 2026 is a global convening point for the ideas, technologies and partnerships that will define the next phase of the energy transition,” Puri said.“The focus now must be on moving from discussion to implementation - advancing practical solutions through collaboration across govts, industry and financial institutions,” he said.The event will showcase future energy technologies, including LNG, green hydrogen, renewables, carbon capture, and AI-driven solutions.

Dedicated sessions will explore hydrogen economies, green finance, and pathways to net-zero goals, reinforcing IEW’s position as a leading global energy dialogue platform, said director general of the Federation of Indian Petroleum Industry (FIPI) Gurmeet Singh.On the sidelines of the conclave, an exhibition will host more than 700 companies across the full energy value chain, with several automobile companies also showcasing flex-fuel engines.The event will feature ministerial roundtables, dialogues on global capital flows, public-private sector discussions, and technology showcases from multinational firms, energy companies, and high-growth start-ups.The 2025 edition attracted over 68,000 participants, 570 exhibitors, 5,400 conference delegates, and hosted 100 conference sessions featuring 540+ global speakers. Singh said that this year the number of delegates participating will be much higher. He said that provisions were made for delegates, chief executive officers, and VIPs to arrive by vessel and by helicopter for the event.
