However, the comfortable position of England in the game can be attributed to the sublime 166-run opening partnership between Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett. While the wicket did have minimal movement, the Indian bowlers sprayed the ball all around, drifting into the pads of the batters consistently and letting the batters get away with easy boundaries.

Earlier, India were bundled out for 358 runs in the first innings after England skipper Ben Stokes won the toss and opted to bowl first. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sai Sudharsan chipped in with half-centuries, and England skipper Stokes shone with a 5-wicket haul after eight years in Test match cricket.

India's bowlers struggled on a changing pitch during a cricket match against England. While they faced unfavorable conditions in the afternoon (bright sun, less swing) compared to England's morning spell (cloud cover, rain), India's poor bowling performance allowed England's openers to build a dominant 166-run partnership.
