Head coach Arne Slot confirmed that Isak might be out of the PL encounter against the Bees due to a groin injury, while Gravenberch might miss out due to an unspecified injury.

Alexander Isak is uncertain for Liverpool’s Premier League match against Brentford on Saturday after sustaining a groin injury during the game against Eintracht Frankfurt earlier this week.

The Sweden international, a British-record signing, was substituted at halftime in Liverpool’s 5-1 Champions League victory on Wednesday. However, Liverpool manager Arne Slot indicated that the injury is not severe.

“Alex is not too bad. There’s a question mark for the weekend. Let’s see how he progresses," Slot said on Friday.

Midfielder Ryan Gravenberch is also doubtful after being omitted from the Frankfurt game due to an unspecified issue, while Jeremie Frimpong is sidelined with a hamstring injury.

“Jeremie is not in a good place," Slot added. “He definitely won’t be playing today, tomorrow, or next week. It’s a hamstring injury, so it will take some time."

Isak has had a slow start since his $170 million move from Newcastle in the offseason, scoring only one goal in 11 games for both club and country.

Mohamed Salah is also experiencing a dip in form, having not scored in his last six games for Liverpool. Nonetheless, Slot expressed confidence that the Egypt international would soon regain his scoring touch.

“The last thing I worry about is Mo starting to score goals again because that’s what he’s done his whole life, and I expect him to do the same in the coming weeks and months for our club," Slot said.
