JAMMU: In two separate incidents on Sunday, police seized a "Chinese-made" weapon-mountable telescope from a locality and arrested a 24-year-old man in Samba district for questioning, officials said."Jammu (Rural) Police recovered a telescope (that can be mounted on a weapon) from the Sidhra area," a police spokesperson said.
A six-year-old boy in the Asrarabad locality of Sidhra was found in possession of a "Chinese-made" telescope, officials said.The boy's family told authorities that he had discovered the object in a nearby garbage dump on Sunday morning.Police, along with teams from the Special Operations Group (SOG), are carrying out further investigations, a spokesperson added."The public is advised not to panic," the official added.In a separate incident, police took Tanvir Ahmad into custody from village Diani in Samba district for questioning, reportedly after a "Pakistani" phone number was detected on his mobile, officials said.Ahmad, originally a resident of Anantnag in south Kashmir, is currently living in Samba, they added.(With agency inputs)
