Ranchi: The Jharkhand high court on Monday reserved its order in a bail application filed by former Hazaribag deputy commissioner (DC) and suspended IAS officer Vinay Choubey.Choubey has preferred an application for bail before the Jharkhand high court and is facing the heat in a case registered by the anti-corruption bureau (ACB) during his tenure as the Hazaribag DC.
It has been alleged that Choubey was involved in the sale of Sewayat lands in the district illegally.Choubey is also an accused in the liquor scam, in which he has been granted bail by lower court for non-submission of charge sheet within the stipulated time.Choubey is in custody since May 20 last year. He had earlier moved for grant of bail before the special judge of the ACB in Hazaribag, which was dismissed on September 16 last year. Thereafter, he filed his application before the high court.
