John Cena has always been known for his strength inside the WWE ring, but it was his everyday charm that caught attention recently. The 48-year-old wrestling icon and actor was spotted lifting his wife, Shay Shariatzadeh, over a large puddle to keep her from getting wet.
The lighthearted gesture, captured by a fan and later posted on TikTok, quickly went viral, reminding fans that Cena’s most endearing moves aren’t always scripted for television.

The video showed Cena scooping up Shariatzadeh without hesitation before carrying her across the puddle. Once she was safely on dry ground, he went on to open the car door for her, continuing the gentlemanly display. Cena even turned to a security guard nearby, shaking his hand and saying, “Thank you so much for today.”That short clip, widely shared across social platforms, showed another side of Cena. The 17-time world champion and Hollywood star elegantly revealed that he is a husband who embraces small, meaningful gestures in public.
The couple, who tied the knot in 2020 before celebrating with a second wedding two years later, have kept most of their relationship out of the spotlight. However, their affectionate moments, whether on a red carpet or at ringside, often make headlines.
Their viral puddle clip isn’t the first time Cena and Shariatzadeh have melted hearts. Earlier this month, the pair walked the red carpet together at the Peacemaker season two premiere in New York City. Between interviews, they shared a kiss, exchanged whispered words, and Cena even paused to fix her hair before moving to his next engagement. Speaking to PEOPLE at the event, he admitted his schedule had been pulling him in every direction.“We need a date night, honestly, like we really do,” Cena confessed. “Work has been demanding, and through communication, we understand what the calendar is and we navigate those paths as we see fit. [But] boy am I looking forward to after [the premiere] when I can have a date with my bride.”He also revealed plans to carve out time for her during his ongoing projects in Europe, saying, “We may steal a second in Dublin. I know I got a chance over there.
We're [also] headed to [France]. I'll make sure to get in early so at least we can share a coffee in the street.”

Cena is also closing a historic chapter in his wrestling career. On August 31, he defeated Logan Paul at WWE Clash in Paris, marking his 99th premium live event victory. The match was part of his retirement tour, which will conclude his in-ring career later this year.
Immediately after his victory, Cena found Shariatzadeh in the audience, kissed her, and pulled her close in front of the cameras.
That moment, too, spread across social media, with fans applauding the heartfelt display.Paul, who recently married model Nina Agdal, later praised Cena’s mastery in a reflective post on X: “Fair play to John, an absolute mastermind of the craft. He wrestles better than Pablo Picasso paints… idk if it’ll ever be understood how good he is.”
