Joshna Chinappa, Veer Chotrani reach Western India squash semifinals

NEW DELHI: The 80th CCI Western India squash tournament reached the semi-final stage on Saturday, with players across categories booking their places after competitive matches.In the women’s section, top seed Joshna Chinappa defeated Reiva Nimalkar 11-4, 11-3, 11-5 to progress. Second seed Sanya Vats ad to struggle before overcoming Pooja Arthi R 11-6, 10-12, 11-3, 11-5 to move into the final four.In the men’s category, top seed Veer Chotrani was tested by Mahesh Mangaonkar before winning 11-9, 11-9, 12-10 to advance. Second seed Suraj Chand secured his place with a 11-3, 11-5, 11-1 win over Purav Rambhia.The semi-final matches across categories highlighted the competition level in the tournament and the progress of players on the domestic circuit.
