Judge advises Kurnool prison inmates to be aware of rights

Principal District and Sessions Judge G. Kabarthi visited the district prison for men and women, on Thursday.

Judge Kabarthi visited the Prison Legal Aid Help Desk and Clinic and interacted with the inmates about the facility. He said an advocate and a para legal volunteer would be available at the facility to provide legal aid for the prisoners. Mr. Kabarthi advised the inmates to be aware of their rights and ensured that those without an advocate would be provided one free of cost.

He said steps would be taken to secure speedy bail to the inmates who are aged above 70 years or suffering from ill-health.
