MANGALURU: Yenepoya Dental College organised an Anti-Ragging Awareness Programme recently, in compliance with the guidelines of the Dental Council of India (DCI). The programme aimed to create awareness among students about the prevention of ragging and to promote a safe, respectful, and ragging-free academic environment.Dr Laxmikanth Chatra, Principal, reiterated the institution’s zero-tolerance policy towards ragging. Dr Maji Jose, Dean of Student Affairs, highlighted the anti-ragging measures and monitoring mechanisms in place at the institution. The guest speaker, Dr Shivasharan Shetty, Member, DCI, delivered an insightful talk on the psychological, academic, and legal consequences of ragging, emphasising the seriousness of the offence under the law. The event was attended by BDS students, interns, faculty members, and representatives from the local police.
