The final voters’ list published by the State Election Commission on Saturday (October 25) ahead of the 2025 local body elections in Kerala has 2,84,46,762 voters in all.

The number is higher by a little over 7.8 lakh voters when compared to the voters’ list used for the 2020 local body polls, and higher by 1,34,290 voters compared to the draft list published by the commission on September 29 this year for the present revision of the rolls. The updated list also has 2,798 overseas voters, the commission headed by A. Shajahan said.

The list has been updated to correspond with the changes that have come about in the boundaries of local body wards following the ward delimitation exercise.

The commission, which has the mandate of preparing the voters’ lists and conducting elections to the local bodies, had received 4.62 lakh applications for inclusion of names on the list.

The list was revised with January 1, 2025 as the qualifying date for enrolment. The list is applicable to 17,337 wards in 941 grama panchayats, 3,240 wards in 87 municipalities, and 421 wards in six Corporations.

The commission had published the draft voters’ list on September 29. The list was finalised after scrutiny of the applications and complaints received till October 14.

The updated list can be accessed on the commission’s website sec.kerala.gov.in, local bodies, and taluk and village offices.
