The Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) claimed 38.81% and the CPI(M)-led Left Democratic Front (LDF) got 33.45% of the votes polled in the two-phase 2025 local body polls in the State, according to data released by the State Election Commission (SEC). The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) claimed 14.71% of the votes, while 13.03% of the votes went to other parties and Independents.
The UDF, which dominated the battles across panchayats, municipalities, and Corporations, won 8,021 grama panchayat wards, 1,241 block panchayat wards, 196 district panchayat wards, 1,458 municipal wards, and 187 Corporation wards. The LDF, which lost significant ground this time, won 6,584 grama panchayat wards, 928 block panchayat wards, 148 district panchayat wards, 1,103 municipality wards, and 126 Corporation wards. The NDA claimed 1,448 grama panchayat wards, 54 block panchayat wards, 1 district panchayat ward, 324 municipality wards, and 93 Corporation wards.
Of the 2,86,05,525 voters in the SEC rolls, 74.25%, or 2,12,39,135 votes cast their votes on December 9 and 11. The UDF took home 82,37,385 votes. These included 39.17% votes in the panchayats (65,96,415 votes), 38.85% in the municipalities (10,84,901), and 34.59% in the Corporations (5,56,069). The LDF received 70,99,175 votes. The front got 34.02% of the votes in the panchayats (57,29,020), 29.88% in the municipalities (8,34,427), and 33.67% in the Corporations (5,35,728).
The BJP-led NDA, which created headlines by emerging as the single biggest front in the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation, won 31,21,335 votes across Kerala. In the panchayats, the NDA won 23,42,958 (13.92%) votes. In the municipalities, the front won 4,02,233 (14.40%) votes, and in the six Corporations, 3,75,144 (23.58%).

In the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation, while the NDA emerged the single largest party, it actually received marginally less votes than the LDF. The NDA bagged 34.52% of the 4,78,672 votes, while the LDF got 34.65%. The UDF received 26.28% and Independents, 4.55%.
Other parties/Independents won 12.89% votes in the panchayats, 16.86% votes in the municipalities, and 7.80% votes in the Corporations.
Independents, which also include party-backed Independents, won in 1,067 grama panchayat wards, 32 block panchayat wards, none of the district panchayat wards, 291 municipal wards, and 12 Corporation wards.
