KOLKATA: Local train services were disrupted on Monday morning after a stall on the platform at Baghajatin station in south Kolkata caught fire, officials said.The fire broke out around 6 am and spread quickly, engulfing the area in thick smoke. Three fire tenders were rushed to the spot and managed to bring the blaze under control within about 30 minutes.No casualties were reported in the incident, officials added.Following the incident, train services on Eastern Railway’s Sealdah South section were temporarily disrupted.Officials said movement of trains on the down line was suspended for around 30 minutes. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, and an investigation has been initiated.(With agency inputs)
