The temples of Goddess Mahalakshmi wore a festive look on the fourth and last Thursday of the auspicious 'Margasiram’ month. Devotees thronged the Sri Kanakamahalakshmi temple in Vizianagaram to offer Ksheerabhisekham and participated in kumkum puja organised by the temple’s trustee V.K. Gayatri Sarma. The trustee said that devotees would get an opportunity to perform puja directly to the presiding deity, which is only done by priests in other temples.
Vizianagaram’s oldest Lakshmi temple located in the premises of Jagannath Swamy temple was abuzz with spiritual activity from the early hours of Thursday. The Ashtalakshmi temples located in Vizianagaram and Srikakulam also witnessed a heavy rush of devotees . At the Kammasigadam Mahalakshmi temple located in Ranasthalam mandal of Srikakulam district, devotees waited in long queues for darshan.
