The Left Democratic Front (LDF) will launch its northern region development rally on February 1, 2026, from Kumbala in the Manjeswaram Assembly Constituency. Organised by the LDF State committee, the rally will be led by CPI(M) State secretary M.V. Govindan.
The LDF district committee has chalked out an extensive programme to ensure the rally’s district-level tour is a success.
The rally aims to mobilise people against what the LDF describes as the anti-people and divisive policies of the BJP-led Central government, while also highlighting the development and welfare initiatives of the LDF government in Kerala.
A reception will be held in Kasaragod town on the first day. Further receptions are scheduled at Chattanchal in Uduma constituency at 10.30 a.m. on February 2, at Kanhangad on February 3, and at Kalikadavu on February 4.
At a preparatory meeting held in this connection, condolences were expressed on the demise of noted environmentalist Madhav Gadagil. CPI(M) district secretary M. Rajagopal presided over the meeting, while LDF district convener K.P. Satheesh Chandran outlined future programmes.
