MUMBAI: A grand musical programme called 'Rhythm n Roots' is being organised by the Andrean Cultural Committee of St Andrews Church, Bandra, to promote talent and culture.Spokesperson Brian Tellis said the three-day festival from Feb 6-8 will be held in the St Andrew's School grounds.
It seeks to unite communities through the arts. As an evolution of the 68-year-old Bandra Zonals, an institution under the council, it aims to gradually encompass all deaneries within the archdiocese of Bombay.Performers of all ages and backgrounds are invited to share their talent in music, dance, choral singing and interdisciplinary acts. This non-competitive event builds bonds and encourages diversity.The first day performance includes past Bandra Zonal winners who have risen to prominence in the music industry, followed by a production named 'Live that Dream' featuring vocalists Darren Das, Dominique Cerejo, Keshia B, Rahul D’Mello, Kanchan Daniel and Siddharth Meghani, Mumbai's Elvis Presley tribute artist.
Some of these performers trace their roots to the council.Day two will have Terence Lewis and his Contemporary Dance Company showcasing various dance forms. Winners from the 2025 Bandra Zonals, aged five to 35 will present a dazzling show in colourful costumes.The grand finale on the third day features a 100-member choir drawn from across the archdiocese led by Living Voices accompanied by the Bombay Chamber Orchestra in a performance of sacred choral music.Stalls selling kitschy clothing and handmade jewellery, as well as a food court, are other attractions.
