Lee Mijoo's shares shocking ADHD diagnosis; says there are areas brainwave patterns that are 'underactive'

Lee Mijoo, a member of Lovelyz, who is known for her songs such as ‘Ah-Choo’ and ‘When We Were Us’, recently shared a health update with the public. Through a vlog post on her channel, the idol made a shocking revelation about how, after going to a specialized clinic, she ended up getting an official diagnosis.


Lee Mijoo reveals that she has ADHD

On August 30, the singer took to her video channel to share a video with the title 'Do I Seem Like I Have ADHD?', where she shared her journey of officially being diagnosed with ADHD (Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder). The star first revealed that it became one of the things that she had been putting off, until recently, however, when she felt the compulsion that she just had to do it and get it over with. One of the reasons she shared that prompted her to go get checked was the fact that she was getting more and more forgetful, often even losing a sense of why she entered a room in the first place.

Mijoo also talked about how it was going to a clinic that had been specialized for ADHD diagnosis. She revealed that after the test results came back, the doctor at the clinic was prompt with her. She was told after the evaluation that, “There are areas in your brainwave patterns that are underactive. In tests that assess cognitive and behavioral functions, the externalizing score was particularly high. Using this as a diagnostic reference, the results were notably indicative of ADHD”.

Lee Mijoo faces shock over health diagnosis

As soon as the diagnosis was confirmed, Mijoo was unable to hide the shock on her face, as seen in the video. What surprised her even more was when her doctor talked about how her level of diagnosis often requires the individual to go on some form of medication. The idol has been quite open about her daily life, and has been using such vlogs as a way to keep fans and netizens updated about the happenings in her life.
