‘Lenin’ release update: Akhil Akkineni-starrer village drama gets summer 2026 release window

Tollywood actor Akhil Akkineni has been away from the big screens for quite a while now. Although it has been announced that he will be seen in the upcoming action drama ‘Lenin,’ there haven’t been any major updates regarding the film.

As the New Year begins, the makers recently shared a new poster and release details of the film.

Makers announce release details

Taking to their X (formerly Twitter) handle, the makers shared a poster featuring Akhil Akkineni, who seems to be walking surrounded by a festive occasion in the village. They also shared that the first single from the film is set to release on January 5, which is Monday. They also shared the movie will be hitting the big screens this summer.

Maker’s social media posts

Wishing the fans a New Year, the makers wrote, “Along with the new year... An amazing song is also on the way.” #LENIN First Single on Jan 5th. Wishing you all a very happy New Year. In Cinemas Summer 2026.”

Akhil Akkineni also shared the poster and wrote, “Happy new year to you all! Let’s make 2026 a year to remember. Love, health, and happiness to everyone. #LENIN's first single is coming out very soon, on :) 5th Jan... Enjoy! Summer 2026 Release.”

Thaman, who is composing the film’s music, wrote, “#LeninFirstSingle @AkhilAkkineni8 Ready Folks.”

About ‘Lenin’

Directed by Murali Kishor Abburu, the movie has been long in production. Earlier, the film was set to star Sreeleela as the female lead. However, she exited the project, and now ‘Kaantha’ and ‘Andhra King Taluka’ actress Bhagyashri Borse has taken her role. The makers are yet to release plot details of the film, but it will be a village-based romance drama.Akhil Akkineni was last seen in ‘Agent,’ which turned out to be a failure at the box office.Speaking of her personal life, the actor recently married his longtime partner, Zainab Ravdjee, in June 2025 after he got engaged to her in November 2024.
